About Pro Sim Racing

My Story

Sean Seebran

Welcome, my name is Sean, better known as Pro Sim Racing on YouTube.

I originally started my YouTube channel as a way to introduce the people of my country, Trinidad and Tobago, to the world of Sim Racing, but it has turned into something much greater.

My YouTube channel has allowed me to meet many great people from all around the world, all with a passion for Sim Racing

As an introvert, I’ve always been very shy, for as long as I can remember.

It took me over a year of uploading videos with captions before eventually, “with a lot of coaxing from my daughter”, I finally started talking in my videos. It took me about another year before I worked up enough courage to finally show my face in a video, man was I shy 🤦‍♂️

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a work-in-progress, I am by no means an “extrovert” now, but I am doing a bit better than before.

Where It All Started

I"ve been Sim Racing since February 26th of 2014

I actually joined iRacing back in February of 2014, I started the Pro Sim Racing YouTube channel on Dec 2nd of 2015, and so it all began. One of the main things that I’ve learned along the way, is that it’s way more enjoyable racing with friends than with strangers.

When I started on iRacing, I practiced and raced amongst strangers. With the help of my YouTube channel, I’ve started to gain a bit of a following, so I decided to start a Discord server, a place where we can all gather together, talk, hang out, and even help one another with various sim-related issues and projects like car setups, custom liveries (paint jobs), software issues, etc.

We’ve become more like a little Sim Racing family if you will, and I won’t trade it for anything. This is the very best part of our hobby.

My Mission

As I mentioned a bit earlier, I originally started my YouTube channel as a way to introduce the people of my country to the world of Sim Racing, but that’s just the start.

After seeing the positive effects that Sim Racing has had in my life, I would really like to share the benefits of the Sim Racing hobby with everyone, no matter where you call home.

The Impact of Gaming on our Youths

I have seen Sim Racing/Gaming be instrumental in keeping youths away from bad behavior, friends, and vices. I’m sure that there are some parents that would rather see their child spend hours on their rig practicing and tuning their car for a race than to not know where they are, or who they are with, and so on.

I remember when I was a little boy, back then one would aspire to be a doctor, lawyer, scientist, engineer and so on. These were considered to be the “good jobs”, the jobs that paid well, but now we live in an age where technology is getting better and better, we now have something called “the internet” which has totally changed the game.

We now have teenagers who Livestream their gameplay from their bedrooms onto their channels on YouTube, Twitch, Mixer, etc. while making a significant amount of money in the process. It is totally possible to become a millionaire by “gaming” for a living, this is the world we now live in, a world with possibilities that we couldn’t even fathom just a few short years ago.
